You are in a Wrestling Match

Triple-h-vs-john-cena (5)

Believe it or not….You are in the middle of a wrestling match. There are no breaks in a wrestling match like in boxing. Taking a break is dangerous because your enemy is not going on a break!

The Wrestling match:

We are in a wrestling match with the devil. We are not in a battle with humans but demons. The match will end only when Jesus returns. Until then, you have to keep fighting or else your enemy will punch the life out of you.

For we “wrestle” not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12(KJV)

Does the devil have power?? :

Some believe that the devil has great power and we can’t face him. These Christians have a Big devil and a Small God. Some believe that the devil has no power and we are safe as Christians “automatically”. But the truth is somewhere in the middle. The truth is-“The devil is no match for us because God is in us. If God is powerful than the devil then a man united with God is powerful than the devil. On the other hand, if we allow the devil into our lives He will take us down for sure because he is ruthless when you are under his deception.”

If you have not read my post on demons, take time to read it-http://holyspiritrevolution.com/can-christians-have-demons-in-them/

God will not fight the devil for you:

Most Christians ask or beg God to do something about the devil. They pray-“God help me. The devil is after me. He is destroying my life….Why are you not helping me?”. God doesn’t answer this prayer but He murmurs-“Why don’t they study the Bible properly?”. Yes…If you are begging God to do something about the devil, His reply is going to be-“STUDY YOUR BIBLE PROPERLY”.

The Bible never asks us to pray to God about the devil. The devil is no match for God. God will defeat the devil with a breath; He doesn’t have to fight. But we have to. Moreover, why should He punch the devil while He has given you His power?. Every time the Bible brings the devil in combat with a believer; it commands the believer to do something about the devil. If you don’t do something, nothing will be done. See what the Bible says-“We are wrestling against the devil and his demons. Ephesians 6:12 (We are fighting not God). “Resist the devil and He will flee”. James 4:7 (You have to resist). “Cast out demons in Jesus’ name”. Mark 16:17(You have to Command demons to leave in Jesus’ name and not pray to God to cast out the demons). Understand me, we wrestle or resist or cast out demons through God’s power but we have to do something or else we will be at the mercy of the devil!!

You are stronger than the devil:

You are stronger than the devil because God is in you. Jesus didn’t just gain “all” authority through the cross to show off. He was God and already above everything but He defeated the devil for us or defeated the devil in our place. The Authority He gained has been given to us. We have authority over the devil and his demons. We just have to exercise the victory of Jesus over the devil. The devil is a defeated opponent.

The devil still has power but He has no authority. Jesus defeated satan on the cross and took the authority he possessed. (Power is the “ability” to do something while authority is the legal “right” to do something.) The devil has illegal power while we have God’s power and authority. When we command from that place of authority, stuffs happen. A police officer and a thief have guns but they are not the same. Police officer-power with authority, Thief- power without authority. The government (God) is backing the police officer while the thief has only a few useless guys with him. Read this well-known verse carefully; we just go around quoting half the verse while the full verse is even more powerful-

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them(the devil and his demons), because “the one who is in you”(God) is greater than “the one who is in the world”(satan). 1 John 4:4(NIV)(Emphasis mine)

The devil is under my feet:

Most Christians believe that Jesus is seated in heaven above everything and the devil is under His feet. But many miss out on the other truth that we are also seated with Christ in heaven “now” and the devil is under out feet too. The battlefield is in our mind and the devil will do everything to keep us in the arena of fear and unbelief so he can knock our teeth off. If you know the truth of who you are in Christ, you will bring him to the arena of faith and use him like a punching-bag. Using the devil as a punching-bag doesn’t happen instantly, you have to study and mediate on truths that show you who you are and what you have in Christ till they become a revelation in your spirit.

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6(NLT)

If you are defeated in your life, you can’t blame God or the devil because Jesus finished His job on the cross and the devil is doing is job “faithfully” destroying our lives. You are the one to blame. So, stand up and shake your fists at the devil’s face saying-“Mr.devil I command you to get out of my life in Jesus’ name..right now”. Say it out aloud-“Because of what Jesus did, the devil is under my feet”. You are in a wrestling match but the match is in favor of you if you know who you are and what you have in Christ. Are you struggling to overcome the devil? Did this post help you in anyway? Tell us..
